2023 was a significant sporting year for Glasgow. The city was named the European Capital of Sport and also became the first UK city to be awarded UCI Bike City status, supporting and rewarding cities hosting major UCI cycling events while investing in community cycling and related infrastructure. In August 2023, Glasgow hosted the UCI Cycling World Championships, highlighting the city’s commitment to creating a vibrant, accessible, safe, and attractive cycling environment.

The guide is packed with useful information about Glasgow’s history, events, attractions in and around the city, as well as recommendations for food, drinks, and shopping. It also provides practical details on navigating the city and who to contact in an emergency.
